Carl Watson-Gandy

DR CARL WATSON-GANDY Bsc, PhD, FCMI, FCILT

Carl graduated in Mining Engineering and worked for RST in Zambia where he developed his aptitude for computing in the company’s systems department.

He returned for a period of study in Operational Research at Imperial College, University of London, where he obtained his doctorate in strategic distribution planning and where he lectured for 25 years. This was followed by an appointment as Senior Lecturer in Logistics at the Royal Military College, Shrivenham.

An acknowledged authority in the field of industrial logistics and location studies, he has over 30 publications to his credit.   He is an experienced creator of original and functional software, and is the author and creator of DEPLOY, a stand-alone location package. He is currently involved in research in a number of areas including supply chain modeling.

He has lectured internationally and has held academic posts at the University of Warwick, the University of Liverpool, the Open University and the South Bank University as well as visiting posts in Denmark and New Zealand.
